The Callaway Supersoft is among the top golf balls for beginners and high-handicap players. Its popularity stems from several factors. True to its name, it offers an exceptionally soft feel, but it also delivers impressive distance and promotes a straight trajectory.
The HyperElastic SoftFast Core has been designed to enhance speed while maintaining a soft touch around the greens. Its hybrid cover provides better wedge control and a softer feel without compromising the ball’s durability or distance.
Keep in mind that this is a low-spin ball, which may not be ideal if you struggle to achieve enough height on your shots to maximize carry distance at slower swing speeds.
With golf enjoying peak popularity right now, having the right gear is essential, and the golf ball is one of the most critical pieces to consider. Among the most sought-after options in recent years is the Callaway Supersoft, a ball crafted to boost distance off the tee while providing enhanced control around the greens.
For 2021, Callaway introduced a new hybrid cover, enabling a versatile, multi-material design that performs impressively, particularly when hitting approach shots into the green.
Another key feature is its soft compression core, which not only increases ball speed but also encourages a high launch and low spin. This combination proves particularly advantageous for longer clubs in your bag, offering notable responsiveness with approach shots, especially when using longer irons and hybrids.
One standout feature of the ball that impressed us was the black background behind the Supersoft logo, which served as an excellent alignment aid. This background made lining up putts much easier and eliminated the need to spend extra time marking a line with a sharpie.
On the other hand, one area that could be improved is the ball’s appearance. While the Callaway and Supersoft logos looked sharp and professional, we felt the dimples could have been slightly deeper. The ball’s surface appeared somewhat smooth, resembling the occasional range ball with worn dimples. Although this didn’t noticeably affect performance, it might be visually distracting for some players at address. Overall, considering its price, this is undoubtedly one of the top-performing golf balls in Callaway’s range.
